NEWSSibley International and its team of 10 partner firms was awarded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) a contract to provide over a period of five years technical services to support USAID programs in rebuilding, developing and transforming countres. The services to be provided by the Sibley Consortium cover the broad range of skills and experiences needed to help promote and sustain economic growth through entreprenurial development, business formation, commercial law reform, expanded and more open trade, and increased investment, both local and foreign. The members of the Sibley Consortium are: The Aries Group Ltd., JE Austin, Boston Institute for Developing Economies, Carson Associates, Crimson Capital, Dalberg Global Development Group, GBRW, IOS Partners, Parker Whitfield and TCG International. Return to top May 2006 :: Sibley to evaluate economic competitiveness project in Afghanistan USAID/Afghanistan selected Sibley International to assess the contribution of the Afghan Competitiveness Program to increasing the market for selected Afghan products. The assessment is important in helping USAID determine the effectiveness of the cluster development strategy in Afghanistan and elsewhere. The conference was held in Uttar Pradesh and attracted experts from the throughout India and the region. Return to top March 30, 2005 :: Sibley to Complete Feasibility Study for Credit Bureau in Afghanistan A major problem facing Afghanistan is the absence of a reliable credit history, can be more easily and quickly addressed through creation of a credit bureau. A credit bureau can effectively achieve this objective by facilitating access to credit to all categories of borrowers; a Sibley expert will assess the fasibility of establishing such a mechanism. Sibley will gain a consensus view of the types of information the credit bureau is expected to collect and provide to be of maximum benefit to the member lenders. We will then survey the public availability of various other sources of credit or character information on potential borrowers and determine if laws or regulations constrain access to this information. Sibley will also review the various forms of ownership and organization that a credit bureau could take in Afghanistan and identify laws that would have to be amended in order to authorize ownership structures that exist elsewhere in the world. February 1, 2005 :: Sibley Completes Review of National Development Foundation of Grenada A Sibley Micro Credit expert worked closely with the National Development Foundation management and staff, providing comprehensive technical assistance needed to improve lending methodologies, portfolio management capabilities and generally enhance efficiency. Technical assistance will improvide operational practices (e.g. identifying viable lenders, lending methodology, portfolio management, procedural and manual development), governance, strategic thinking and other aspects of NDFG management. Particular attention was given to improvement of management information systems. The National Development Foundation of Grenada (NDFG) is one of three lending institutions that have been granted funds for micro lending in Grenada. Our Land Titling Advisor works in close cooperation with USAID/Afghanistan in the design, implementation, and monitoring of land titling activities in coordination with implementing partners and the Government of Afghanistan. November 9, 2004 :: Sibley to Provide Services under MACRO II IQC As part of a team led by Booz Allen Hamilton, Sibley will provide services related to macroeconomic policy, poverty alleviation, and economic institutions and analysis. September 25, 2004 :: Sibley to Provide Economic Advisory Services in Afghanistan Sibley will provide technical advisory assistance services to contribute to USAID/Afghanistan’s Economic Governance: The Sustainable Economic Policy and Institutional Reform Support (SEPIRS) program, which provides technical assistance to the key government ministries that implement key policy reforms and improve economic management in the country. The support will be provided by advisors with specialties in privatization, land titling, and accounting/auditing. September 25, 2004 :: Sibley to Provide Competitiveness Assessment in Macedonia Sibley will provide an independent assessment of competitiveness program activities under USAID's Macedonia Competitiveness Activity (MCA). Lead by Booz Allen Hamilton, MCA's goal is to build the prosperity of the average citizen by helping Macedonian enterprises generate the vision and actions that will result in their increased competitiveness in domestic, regional and international markets.
